A consumer begins the process by voluntarily calling the MCREngine toll-free number from a mobile telephone. Before any text message is sent, the automated telephone system plays the complete consent disclosure shown below.
The consumer must press 1 to expressly consent to receive the described text messages at the telephone number from which the call was placed. No demonstration SMS is sent when the consumer does not press 1.
Exact IVR Verbal Consent Script
The following disclosure is played before consent is collected and before any demonstration SMS is sent.
“Thanks for calling MCR Engine. This toll-free number provides a demonstration of MCR Engine’s automated after-hours plumbing text-intake service.
The messages will demonstrate an after-hours plumbing intake conversation and may ask about your plumbing issue, your name, and a service address.
You will receive up to four text messages for this demonstration. Message and data rates may apply. Consent is not required as a condition of purchasing any product or service.
Reply STOP to cancel or HELP for help. MCR Engine’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy are available at mcrengine.com.
Simulated Verbal Consent Interaction
- The consumer voluntarily calls +1 (888) 442-5474 from a mobile telephone.
- The automated system plays the complete verbal consent script displayed above.
- The consumer affirmatively presses 1 on the telephone keypad.
- The system records the caller’s affirmative keypad selection and associates it with the calling telephone number and consent event.
- The automated system plays this confirmation:

“Thank you. You have consented to receive the MCR Engine text-message demonstration at the mobile number from which you are calling. Your first demonstration message will arrive shortly. Reply STOP at any time to cancel.”
- After the affirmative consent event is recorded, the system sends the first demonstration SMS.
- If the caller hangs up, presses an unrecognized key, or does not press 1, the demonstration does not begin and no demonstration SMS is sent.

When the caller presses 1, the MCREngine system records information associated with the affirmative consent event.

No SMS is sent solely because someone calls the number. The caller must hear the disclosure and affirmatively press 1 before the demonstration message sequence begins.

STOP requests
A recipient may reply STOP to cancel text messages. MCREngine honors supported opt-out keywords and does not continue the demonstration after an opt-out request.
HELP requests
A recipient may reply HELP for assistance and support information.
